A Vast improvement to your lifestyle 📈

Over the last year, I started my days between 6-6:30am and I can genuinely say it has changed my life. See, most of us start work at 9am or earlier , so we don't really have much time to do things before work yes? not quite. All it takes is a little willpower and a morning routine to give yourself an extra 2-3 hours of extra time in the morning. You could use it to

  • Workout

  • Start a business or side hustle

  • spend more quality time with your kids

  • learn a new skill

Those early hours of the morning when the world is silent is always the best time of the day. No distractions from friends or family means those hours are your and yours alone. Surely that must sound enticing?

The Numerous Health Benefits 🩺

Waking up and starting your day on your terms has been linked with a plethora of health benefits that might surprise you. For instance ,individuals who wake up early have more positive thoughts compared to night owls. They're found to be more optimistic, agreeable, conscientious, and satisfied with life. I don't know about you, but I think we could all use a little of that. Also, For the females out there, you'd be glad to know that waking up earlier also improves skin health, no need for that expensive skincare haul!

Furthermore, waking up earlier obviously means you will naturally sleep earlier which improves sleep health and thus boosting concentration during the day. Honestly, the list goes on...

Now you know the Why, what about the How? 🧐

It all starts with cultivating a good, unique morning routine. I'm not saying you have to meditate and run for an hour after you jump out of bed, start off simple. Start with the night before. If you usually get the kids ready for school in the mornings, you could instead make sure everything is ready the night before, potentially saving you 30-40 minutes in the morning to do whatever you like. Time is our one fleeting asset, let us grab it with both hands.

If you really want to make this a consistent habit , I recommend you follow the science. You'll need to wake up at 6am every day for the next 5-7 days in order for your body clock adjust. To your surprise, you'll be waking up at 6am without an alarm on the 8th day!

Another excellent factor that helped me is cold showers. I know how that might sound, but stay with me. Multiple studies have proven the positive health implications of cold showers, but I mainly use it to jerk my body awake and it works wonders. Nonetheless, I'm not a monster, I do start off with it warm and only have it cold in the last 2 minutes. Health benefits include:

  • increasing circulation.

  • reducing muscle soreness post-workout.

  • potentially boosting weight loss.

  • glowing hair and skin.
